The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer certification is for individuals with practical experience developing in Marketing Cloud. Candidates typically have experience managing and configuring the Marketing Cloud Email application and have already earned the Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification. This certification is aimed at developers who build personalized marketing assets such as emails, landing pages, and forms using HTML, CSS, and AMPscript. Candidates are also familiar with SQL and can work with Marketing Cloud APIs.
Audience Description: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer
A Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer works with configuring and customizing data within Marketing Cloud. They manage subscriber data across multiple channels and troubleshoot different scripting languages used to support both routine and complex email campaigns. This role involves full-stack development within Marketing Cloud, creating personalized emails, landing pages, and web forms using platform scripting languages. Developers also handle data configuration, segmentation, reporting, and analytics.
Most candidates have at least one year of hands-on experience working with Marketing Cloud and its related tools.
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer candidate should be able to:
Set up and manage data models (data extensions, shared data extensions, Contact model).
Configure data imports.
Work with customer and platform data using SQL, views, and Send Logs.
Write SQL queries, including join statements.
Build dynamic marketing content using scripting languages.
Create web experiences such as data forms and custom preference pages.
Manage subscriptions.
Handle scenarios using REST and SOAP API.
