Families Transitioning through Divorce

This course shares skills and concepts from a program called For Kids’ Sake, created by Practical Parent Education out of Plano, Texas. This program guided parents through steps and skills going through the painful experience of a divorce. I have included materials from other parenting classes with the emphasis on assisting our children to adulthood with as few scars and positive skills. I have picked the best practices and combined them into this course.

Families are the stability of our world and truly our future. We belong to our family and it is to be a safe place for us and each individual within. Our families are complicated and look differently to others, and that is okay.

This course discusses the basics of belonging, how to recognize the importance of our basic needs being met so we can function within our family and in society. There are many skills (easy to learn) necessary to have us functioning at our best and instilling the same in our children and others in our home, especially through difficult times.

This course is designed for parents with children as they transition to new beginnings, new traditions and understanding the new life they will have without their chosen marriage partner.

The quality of our lives is dependent on the positive relationships we have. This course focuses on building uplifting relationships with our Partners In Time: The people we spend the most time with as we travel through the adventures of life.

Family divorce focuses on enhancing adult practices and behaviors, such as developing and practicing positive and effective communication to develop long lasting and loving relationships with our children. We provide information about child developmental stages through ages and common responses to divorce and how to be helpful to your children. This course focuses on assisting parents to be emotionally healthy for the benefit of their children, how divorce affects children of all ages (even our adult children), how to communicate through divorce with other adults as well as our children and to learn techniques and skills to avoid conflict during such an intense time. To promote constructive cooperation and most importantly focus on the memories we make with our children and family each and every day.

Join me and find ways to make your home life better and extend it into the rest of society and world.
