Simple-to-understand easy lectures on English direct and indirect narrations for Urdu /Hindi speaking beginners

Direct speech is the exact words that a person has spoken, usually enclosed in quotation marks. It is a way to repeat or report what someone has said verbatim. For example:

"I am going to the store," said John.

Indirect speech, also known as reported speech, is a way to report or repeat what someone has said without using their exact words. It is often used to provide a summary or interpretation of what was said. For example:

John said that he was going to the store.

When using indirect speech, the tense of the verbs may change to reflect the fact that the original speech occurred in the past. Additionally, the pronouns and time references might also change, to reflect the shift in perspective.

It's important to note that when reporting speech, it's important to be accurate and to verify the quotation, to avoid confusion and misinformation.
